๐Ÿ›’ The "Florida Fresh" 2026 EBT Shopping List

Shopping at Publix or Walmart with your EBT card in 2026 looks a little different than it used to. Starting April 20, 2026, Florida is officially shifting focus toward nutrient-rich staple foods. This means while the candy aisle is now off-limits for SNAP, the rest of the store is wide open for a delicious, home-cooked feast!

๐Ÿฅฆ The "Green & Gold" Produce Section

  • Fresh Fruits & Veggies ๐ŸŽ (Crunch-Tip: Use your card at Publix for local Florida citrus!)

  • Frozen Fruits ๐Ÿ“ (Perfect for smoothies; just ensure no added sugar/syrup)

  • Bagged Salads ๐Ÿฅ— (As long as they are cold/pre-packaged)

  • Edible Seeds & Starter Plants ๐ŸŒฑ (Surprise! You can buy tomato seeds or basil plants at Walmart to grow your own food)

๐Ÿฅฉ The Protein Power-Up

  • Fresh Poultry & Meats ๐Ÿ— (Chicken breasts, ground beef, or pork chops)

  • Seafood ๐ŸŸ (Frozen shrimp or fresh filets from the Publix seafood counter)

๐Ÿž The Pantry Staples

  • Sparkling Water ๐Ÿซง (LaCroix, Bubly, and Waterloo are still EBT-approved!).

๐Ÿ’ก Crunch-Tip: Under the new 2026 rules, a drink is only "banned" if it’s considered a soda. You can still buy beverages that have less than 5 grams of added sugar or are more than 50% real fruit/veggie juice!
